Coral Racing Ambassador, David Probert, previews his four rides at Newbury on Lockinge Day, including Circus Of Rome in the London Gold Cup Handicap.

14:00 Newbury – Circus Of Rome

He won nicely two starts back on the all-weather at Wolverhampton. This is a competitive handicap, as you would expect it to be. Richard Hughes’ horses appear in good form, so it is nice to pick up a ride for him. I am expecting a decent run from the horse.

15:45 Newbury – Purest Time

This horse has come from France and is now with Ian Williams. He hasn’t featured since last November, so he may need this run. Looking back at his form, he looks to have plenty of speed. I had a winner for Ian last week at Ascot. I am sure we will learn a lot more about this horse from this run.

16:20 Newbury – Classic

I remember this horse coming against The Foxes as a two-year-old earlier in his career. It is a great ride to pick up for Richard Hannon. He has a light weight and if he builds on his third-place finish at Newbury last month, he will have a great chance.

16:55 Newbury – Hot Cash

He had been trained to run over 1m2f, but he didn’t get the trip at Sandown. Jack Channon has dropped him back down to 1m. He has told me he is in good order and he is expecting a good run from him.
