Coral Racing Ambassador, David Probert, previews his seven rides at Goodwood on Saturday, including Seaplane in the Listed Cocked Hat Stakes.

13:30 Goodwood – Brighton Boy

He has been handed a tough draw in stall 15, but he has wintered well and looks in great order. He has one of the lowest weight allocations in this competitive handicap contest. If he picks up where he left off last season, he will have a good chance.

14:05 Goodwood – Seaplane

This is a lovely horse. I sat on him the other day and he gave me some great vibes. He is stepping up in trip this year. He shows plenty of speed at home. This run will give us a good idea about his plans for the rest of the year. Hopefully, he stays the trip.

14:35 Goodwood – Supreme Diamond

She ran at Ascot on her debut over the minimum distance, and she was very green. This is over 6f, and I am sure Clive Cox will have her in good order and ready for this second appearance. Only one of her rivals has had a run before, so hopefully that experience plays in her favour.

15:15 Goodwood – Music Piece

I won on this filly last year at Haydock over 1m. She is well-bred, and we are now going over 1m2f with her this season. I had a sit on her the other day. She doesn’t do anything too fast, but she is a steady horse. It was a nice start to the campaign at Sandown where she did not run badly. If she builds on that here, I’d expect her to be in the mix.

15:45 Goodwood – Anzac Day

He has been consistent in his three runs so far. There is plenty of stamina in his family, so I should imagine he will appreciate this step up to 1m6f. He makes his handicap debut off a mark of 88 and I think that’s very workable.

16:20 Goodwood – Stateira

She has made a good start to her career. She got off the mark at the first attempt at Southwell on the all-weather and followed it up with a decent performance at Kempton. This will be her turf debut, and she is stepping up to 1m2f. I am hopeful of a good run from her.

16:55 Goodwood – Star Chorus

I finish my good book of rides in the last race over the minimum 5f sprint distance. This filly will be doing her best work in the closing stages. There looks to be a bit of early pace in the race, so if I can get some cover, it may be run to suit.
