WATCH: Lady Mendoza declared to have her first run of the year at Cartmel on Saturday
Lady Mendoza is set to make her long awaited return to the track this Saturday in the Class 3 Mares' Handicap Hurdle (17:10) over three miles and one furlong at Cartmel.
A trip to Uttoxeter on Sunday had initially been the plan for Lady Mendoza, but trainer Rebecca Menzies opted to go for Cartmel instead where she will run against mares only in a race which is worth just short of £7,000 to the winner.
It's been over five months since we last saw Lady Mendoza on a racecourse, but now she's set to have her first competitive start at Cartmel this weekend as she steps up in trip to 3m1f for the first time under rules.
On her latest start back in November last year, she finished second at Musselburgh under jockey Nathan Moscrop, and he's set to retain the ride this Saturday.
