Victories, Series Finals and a Grade 2 at Ascot | All The Glory's Season Review

21 May 2025
It's been a long season for All The Glory which has included multiple trips north of the border, a Grade 2 contest at Ascot and two series finals.

All The Glory's season started way back in November of last year where she finished ninth of twelve in a Class 2 Mares' Hurdle, which served perfectly as a pipe opener for her season having been off the track for almost four months prior to that. Her next run came at Musselburgh three weeks later, where she coasted home in the hands of talented conditional, Benjamin Macey.

That was her final run for her previous connections, as the Coral Racing Club proudly announced that All The Glory had joined our ranks two days prior to Christmas, with a view to get her out on track during the festive period. Sure enough, only seven days later, it was confirmed that All The Glory would be making her Coral Racing Club debut at Southwell on New Year's Day. Under the ride of Ben Macey once more, she cruised into the race that day and stretched out her lead to score by a comfortable four lengths, which qualified her to run in the Mares' Challenger Series Final at Cheltenham in April.

The excitement didn't stop there, as All The Glory received a career high mark of 135 following her New Year's exploits and trainers, Jonjo & AJ O'Neill, opted to enter her in the Grade 2 Warfield Mares' Hurdle alongside subsequent Cheltenham Festival winner, Kargese. Unfortunately, things didn't pan out for All The Glory that day, as our star mare was caught out by the drop in trip and couldn't keep up with the resulting pace in the latter stages of race.

Despite finishing sixth of the seven runners on the day, the handicapper wasn't lenient in the slightest with All The Glory's mark following the race, as she remained at a rating of 135. She carried this mark into her run in the Scottish County Hurdle at Musselburgh's Scottish Cheltenham Trials, which meant she had to run off of top weight, six pounds higher than the next best rated horse in the field. Our eight-year-old took this in her stride though, and with the help of her now regular partner, Benjamin Macey, she stormed home in the closing stages to finish third in the race.

Next up it was a return north of the border for the Go North Lady Buttons Mares' Hurdle Series Final, which she qualified for by running three times in the north of the UK during the course of the season. It was another case of being rated far better than the opposition, as she was at least 20lbs higher than the rest of the field on the day, and had to carry an astronomical weight in comparison to her rivals. The uphill battle wasn't made any easier for All The Glory, as she was forced four wide coming around the final bend which ultimately put an end to any chance she had of being in the contest at the finish, due to Musselburgh's tight nature. She finished sixth of the seven runners, but did collect some more prize money for her lucky Owners for the Day, who were treated to a fantasic afternoon at the Scottish track.

Her final run of the season was next, and it was the Mares' Challenger Series Final at Cheltenham that she qualified for by winning on her Coral Racing Club debut at Southwell. It was another tough contest, and it was telling that All the Glory was at the tail end of a long season by this point as she was always at the rear of the field, and once more carrying top weight, so was unable to make up lost ground. She came home in 14th of the 16 runners, in what was her last run of the season.
