WATCH: Aspire To Glory declared for midweek trip to Kempton
Alice pinpointed this contest in her latest update following on from Aspire To Glory's previous run at Kempton where he finished a gallant third. You might remember he missed the break that day and gave the field a big head start, but despite the unfortunate circumstances, he still ran with huge credit under Tommie Jakes which was very pleasing to see.
It's set to be Aspire To Glory's 11th run for the Coral Racing Club since making his debut over five furlongs at Doncaster back in May last year, but it'll only be the second time over the mile trip. His one previous attempt over that distance came at Chelmsford in November 2023, which admittedly was a race to forget as he finished 8th (9 ran) after being too keen in the early stages.
That being said, Aspire To Glory has taken his performances to a new level since then, winning two on the bounce before the aforementioned third place finish just over a week ago.
A big factor in the turn of fortune is no doubt the up and coming apprentice jockey, Tommie Jakes, who has ridden Aspire To Glory in his last three races, and will again pilot him on Wednesday.
