WATCH: Owner for the Day delight at Doncaster despite Conservative's result
Watch our latest video to see the key highlights from the day, including a post-race analysis from jockey Kieran O'Neill and the reaction from some of our lucky owners.
We caught up with Scott Dixon on Monday and this is what he had to say:
It was obviously a disappointing run at Doncaster from Conservative yesterday. It is not what we all expected, but it was quite clear from early into the race that he did not enjoy the ground.
It was far too heavy for him, which meant he just never got going on it. I take full responsibility for that as a trainer, but sometimes you only know these things by giving it a go.
I am pleased to say Conservative is well this morning. He ate up his food, which is always a good sign after a run. We will now go back to the drawing board and find another opportunity for him. That will either come on better ground or the all-weather.
If you saw the race yesterday, you will have seen that Conservative is in great shape physically. I still believe this is the best we have had him since he arrived at our yard and we should not judge him on his latest performance.
As disappointing as the run was, it was great to see so many Coral Racing Club members at Doncaster. I enjoyed speaking to many of you, and I hope you had a great afternoon.
