WATCH: Hey Day Baby "in good form" on the gallops after recovering from bleed at Uttoxeter
She was given a tracheal wash following that run to determine the cause of the bleed, at which point the inflammation of her airways was confirmed. The wash also showed that there was no harmful bacteria present in her airways, meaning the recovery process was straightforward.
The inflammation has now cleared and Hey Day Baby is back in full-time work at home, and the team at Jackdaws Castle have a couple of races in mind for her later in the month, as she looks to get back on track.
Trainer, Jonjo O'Neill provided this update today:
"Hey Day Baby completed a bit of work this morning (in the above video), she is 3rd in string (number 12). She schooled well on Friday and seems to be in good form since her unfortunate bleed at Uttoxeter.
Looking forward, there are two races back at Uttoxeter that we have in mind for her. 17th July 3m 0-100 Novices Handicap Chase and 26th July 0-100 Handicap Chase."
