We're heading to Cartmel on Friday afternoon following today's declarations as Lady Mendoza is set to head back to where she finished fourth last time out following a five-month break.

Trainer Rebecca Menzies was delighted with the enthusiasm and attitude Lady Mendoza showed at Cartmel at the end of May, especially given it was her first competitive start in such a while.

After leading the field for much of the way, it looked as though she was beginning to tire around three hurdles from home, but to our delight she continued to stick to her task and still managed to land some prize money for her lucky 10 owners for the day.

Soon after Rebecca told us that she would look for something similar as it’s clear that Lady Mendoza gets on well at the track, and that’s exactly what she’s done for Friday’s engagement at 15:08. It’s a Class 5 Handicap Hurdle over 2m6f, with the only difference being that it is for mares only. Brian Hughes is once again booked to ride, and she is set to face a maximum field of 13 rivals.
