Welcome to the Coral Racing Club

Meet the club's new two-year-old colt with Hugo Palmer

23 Jul 2024
We're delighted to introduce the Coral Racing Club's newest stablemate, an exciting two-year-old by Soldier's Call (Sire) and Satin Ribbon (Dam).

The unnamed colt is currently in training with Hugo Palmer, who as you'll know trains Cast No Shadow at Manor House Stables based in Cheshire.

Tune in to our latest video as we join Hugo Palmer to find out more about his journey so far, and what his prospects for the rest of the year are as he works his way towards his racecourse debut.

Soldier's Call (Sire)

The former Archie Watson-trained colt burst onto the scene in 2018 where he won four of his eight racecourse starts, including the Windsor Castle at Royal Ascot and the Group 2 Flying Childers at Doncaster. On his penultimate run of the year, he also finished third in the Group 1 Prix de l'Abbaye at Longchamp, one spot ahead of the almighty Battaash.

His best progeny to date includes Group 3 winner Dawn Charger (Karl Burke), Soldier's Gold who won three times as a two-year-old with Hugo Palmer, and Dorothy Lawrence who is also trained by Karl Burke and is currently rated 98.

Satin Ribbon (Dam)

A daughter of multiple Group 1 winner Shamardal, Satin Ribbon raced only once, finishing unplaced, but she has enjoyed far greater success as a broodmare, with her first two foals both going on to racecourse success.

Name Your Horse Competition

Our new colt needs a name, and we want one of our Coral Racing Club members to be the one to name him for the chance to win an Ultimate Owner for the Day experience for his debut run!
