WATCH: Rockstar Icon declared to make his long awaited return to action with a trip to Nottingham on Thursday
Our four-year-old gelding signed off 2024 with a fifth place finish at Windsor, which came after a couple of disappointing efforts at Goodwood and Newmarket, however, they weren't without reasonable excuses. Essentially, a bout of hay fever made life difficult for Rockstar Icon last summer, and it meant that we weren't able to see him on the track as much as we'd have hoped, and when we did, he didn't perform to a level he'd previously shown, including his very promising first run as a three-year-old at Newmarket in May.
The positive news is that the team at Whatcombe are now much happier with Rockstar Icon's situation, and following their patient approach with getting him back to full fitness this year, we're hopeful he can bounce back to form this campaign.
Experienced jockey Luke Morris has been booked to ride, which will be his first in the Coral Racing Club silks, and the pair will break from stall four.
Tune into the video above from David Stevens to find out more about Rockstar Icon's long awaited return.
