Diamond Days is a six-year-old brown gelding by Diamond Boy out of the Old Vic mare Foxy Lauren and is trained by Joe Tizzard at Venn Farm in Dorset.

There is plenty of proven National Hunt quality in Diamond Days’ pedigree. Diamond Boy has established himself as a notable sire of staying jumpers, headed by top-level performers including L’Homme Presse and Impaire Et Passe, while Old Vic was an enormously influential presence in National Hunt breeding. It is a pedigree built around stamina and jumping rather than speed and Diamond Days has always looked the type to benefit from time and maturity.

The early stages of Diamond Days’ career were not entirely straightforward. Following a difficult run at Fontwell, an examination by the equine physio revealed a trapped nerve in his neck. He was treated and subsequently receovered well and returned to the track.

Diamond Days showed encouraging signs as he began to find his feet on the racecourse, most notably when finishing a close second at Lingfield in February 2025. He displayed plenty of heart that day, reinforcing Joe's belief that there was ability there once he learned to put everything together.

Diamond Days returned bigger, stronger and ready for action in the 2025/26 season, making a promising reappearance at Fontwell before taking on the challenge of fences. Although things didn't quite fall into place during his first few outings over the larger obstacles, there were flashes of the ability Joe has always believed he has. Still relatively lightly raced, our strapping gelding has plenty more to offer and Joe remains confident that the best is yet to come.

A well-earned summer break has given Diamond Days the chance to strengthen and mature further and we're excited to see what he can produce as he continues to develop and find his feet on the racecourse!
