I’m pleased to say that Cast No Shadow is doing really well and is nearly ready to go back into full work, which is great news.

Once he gets to that stage, we’ll start looking for suitable races for him.

It has been a frustrating year with him, as he hasn’t raced since January. The positive side of that is that he is fresh, so once he is fully fit, we have the opportunity to campaign him on the all-weather throughout the autumn and winter months.

I’m very pleased with the way he looks and happy with how he is moving during his exercise. We just need to start ramping things up a little now and see how he responds as we increase his workload.

Once I’m confident that he is 100% race fit, we’ll be looking to aim him at a five-furlong race at Newcastle. Both of his career victories have come over that course and distance, so it makes sense to return there. It’s great to see him progressing well, and hopefully we can get him back on the track before too long.
