Cast No Shadow is a five-year-old bay gelding by Ardad out of the Halling mare Polly Floyer and is trained by Hugo Palmer at Manor House Stables.

Speed is very much the theme of Cast No Shadow’s pedigree. Ardad was a high-class juvenile sprinter, winning the Windsor Castle Stakes at Royal Ascot before landing the Group 2 Flying Childers Stakes at Doncaster. Halling provides a different influence through the dam line and Cast No Shadow has developed into a sharp, powerful sprinter with plenty of natural pace.

We bought Cast No Shadow as an unnamed two-year-old and handed the important job of naming him over to Coral Racing Club members. From his early days at Manor House, Hugo Palmer was clear that we had a very fast horse on our hands.

That speed has carried Cast No Shadow to two victories, both over five furlongs at Newcastle. A sharp horse who likes to get on with his racing, Cast No Shadow has always shown plenty of natural ability and enthusiasm for the job.
