Cave Article seemed well after his last run, but he hasn’t finished his last couple of races strongly.

Even when he won, although he came there travelling, he made hard work of it, so we got him checked over just to make sure nothing was niggling him.

We had him gastroscoped, and a few minor ulcers showed up, but nothing that would have been serious enough to affect his performance. We treated them anyway though, to prevent them getting worse, and at the same time have freshened him up at home.

As a result he’s ready to run again, and as there are no shortage of suitable handicap chases around three miles in the next couple of weeks, we’ll give him a few entries and then make a decision based on what looks the best opportunity.

There are options at Carlisle, Taunton, Hereford, Stratford, Exeter, Bangor and Southwell, so we’ll keep you updated.
