WATCH: Hugo Palmer joins the Coral Racing Club
Hugo Palmer has been a licenced trainer since 2011. His first stakes winner came in the following year, when Making Eyes won a Listed race in France. In 2015, Covert Love became Hugo’s first Classic winner when victorious in the Irish Oaks, and that same year he won £1 million in prize money for the first time. 2016 saw Galileo Gold land the 2000 Guineas, a win that helped seal a top ten finish for Hugo in the Trainers’ Championship with prize money of more than £2 million.
In March 2022, Hugo moved from Newmarket to Manor House Stables, the state of the art training centre owned and founded by former England footballer, Michael Owen, bringing with him a significant number of horses and ensuring the stable’s continued growth.
Hugo’s first season in Cheshire was crowned by Brad The Brief’s Group 2 Greenlands Stakes win, and 2023 has seen a further exciting development, with Coral becoming the official sponsor of the Manor House team.
