Sean Quinn on Phoenix Of Dreams: "I'm sure he'll be getting off the mark very soon"

26 Jul 2024
We entered Phoenix Of Dreams in a couple of races at Ayr and Southwell on Monday, but I think we'll give those a miss and wait for a better opportunity.

The ground is currently quite quick up at Ayr, and there isn't much rain forecast over the weekend, so I don't think he'll get his ground there. The Southwell race looks like it's going to be very competitive for the grade as well, and we really are looking for his next start to be a winning one.

There's a restricted novice race at Redcar on Saturday 10th August which he qualifies for on account of his purchase price, and I think that will give him an excellent chance of getting his head in front, so providing the ground is suitable, I'd say that will be his next target.

He came out of his race at Chepstow a few weeks ago absolutely fine, but he was just a little bit stiff for a few days afterwards, and you could certainly tell he'd had a race. We just wanted him to have a couple of weeks off to come back to himself, and I'm delighted to report that he's been in great shape at home since.

He's yet to run a bad race for us, and I'm sure he'll be getting off the mark very soon, so hopefully it will be at Redcar in a few weeks time.
